Bangalore, India, May 10, 2010 -
Aerospace Processing India (API) today announced that it is the
first company in India to get NADCAP certification for Chemical Processing, NDT and Shot Peening.
The company is also the first to get Boeing and Airbus approvals on the same.
Established by Magellan Aerospace Limited and QuEST Global, API is an independent operating
company that provides approved aerospace treatments that are not readily available in India. Its
fully integrated and scalable facility has been operational from Jan 2009.
NADCAP accreditation is becoming widely accepted as the standard in the worldwide aerospace
industry. By manufacturing in accordance with NADCAP approved processes, API assures its
customers around the globe they are purchasing materials produced and tested to the highest
standards set by the industry.
Commenting on the certification, Aravind Melligeri, Co-Founder and Chairman, QuEST Global, said,
“NADCAP accreditation is another big step in validating our processing capabilities and confirms our
dedication to providing the highest quality to our customers. The requirements are rigorous and we
are proud of this accomplishment as API was working over last 12 months in a dedicated fashion to
achieve these approvals. We congratulate API team and thank our customers, like SAAB, Goodrich,
Eaton and Liebherr for supporting the approval process. The certification will put us in a position to
sustain existing business and grow in new and larger opportunities.”
Konrad Hahnelt, Vice President of Magellan Aerospace Limited said “We have made considerable
progress in a relatively short time period in order to achieve this milestone. Also getting the approval
from Airbus & Boeing at the same time clearly reflects our management's vision and understanding
of the aerospace industry."
The facility which was opened in Jan 2009, is now certified in aluminum, titanium and stainless steel
components for aero-structure and aero-engine components. API has invested in capabilities, which
would enable fulfilling the demand for sourcing fully finished parts from India.
“API provides a much needed, standalone third party metal
finishing treatment, services in India. Airbus is proud to have
supported API and to have helped enhance the local aerospace
industry,” said Dr. Srinivasan Dwarakanath, Airbus Director
